Penelopa’s dream was to follow in her father’s steps and save people as a doctor. She lived in a small, private district of Bogotá. Life was simple, and the whole family was happy—until the day a great financial crisis struck the country. Then the once wealthy streets were soon flooded with bandits and criminals of all kinds, making the whole area dangerous for common folks. The Vargas villa was robbed several times, and by the time Penelopa graduated from the school, she had lost 8 of her friends to bandits and drugs. The dream of saving lives as a doctor was long gone. She realized that to protect her loved ones, she would have to take up arms.
Thanks to exceptionally hard training during her last year of school, Penelopa was welcomed into the military forces. It turned out she was a natural sniper and won every tournament she entered. After that her life consisted of countless raids and special operations against the bandits, earning her an officer’s position. Thanks to her efforts, Bogotá thrived once again, and there was only one gang left up in the Colombian mountain siege. To defeat them, she would have to complete one final course of training on a Gryphon base.
One day, just at the time Vargas was about to finish her mountain training, the base was attacked by bandits. She was the only one they captured alive—perhaps by miracle, or perhaps because one of the bandits was her childhood friend. Sparing her life was their grave mistake. By the time Thomas and Emiko arrived at the base, Penelopa had already escaped her cell and was fighting the gang alone. The three of them joined their forces and finally brought peace to Bogotá.
